Before that, the Danish National serum Research Institute carried out a comparative uation of nine novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) antibody detection reagents from China, Germany, the United States and Canada.
On April 29, the Erasmus medical center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the University of Radboud in the Netherlands and the National Institute of public health and environment in the Netherlands published research papers on the medrxiv preprint platform - "towards the next phase: uation of scientific assessments for diagnostics and exposure Assessment "(moving to the next stage: uation of the feasibility of serological testing for diagnosis and exposure assessment). This study systematically uated 11 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) antibody detection reagents from China, Germany, the United States and Italy. The results showed that the total antibody reagent (ELISA) developed by Xiamen University and Beijing Wantai had the best detection performance.
This study makes a comprehensive comparison of the selected antibody detection reagents in order to provide a reference for the selection of reagents for serological detection and diagnosis in the population. The uation data showed that the sensitivity and specificity of the total antibody (IgM, IgG, IGA) reagent of Beijing Wantai were 98.68% (75 / 76) and 99.33% (149 / 150) respectively, which was superior to other detection reagents. In addition, the sensitivity and specificity of Beijing Wantai IgM antibody reagent were 89.47% (68 / 76) and 98.67% (148 / 150), which were superior to other IgM antibody detection reagents.
In the discussion part of the paper, the author points out that the vantai total antibody reagent based on the s-rbd antigen of new coronavirus has the best performance in population screening and disease diagnosis; moreover, IgA detection can detect both early and memory IgA responses simultaneously, which is an effective supplement for various antibody detection at present.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first time that Wantai total antibody detection reagent has been uated by the top authorities of European countries. Before that, the Danish National serum Research Institute carried out a comparative uation of nine novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) antibody detection reagents from China, Germany, the United States and Canada. The results showed that the total antibody reagent jointly developed by Xiamen University and Beijing Wantai had the best detection performance.
